The ratings and comments are about the picture quality, not about the content. As of 2025-01-16 (and likely years in the future), the setup is an LG 77“ G3 4K OLED evo (2023), Apple TV 4K (3rd Gen), and a Plex server with Blu-ray and UHD remuxes.

The Boys S01 Blu-ray (1080p) This is an excellent looking Blu-ray. The image is sharp and I could've mistaken it for UHD. Dark scenes (night / evening / indoor) look good and show little to no noise. The image through the season has quite high contrast which might be disliked by some, but I think it gives a pop to the image which suits this show.
Blade Runner 2049 UHD Blu-Ray (4k) A very good looking UHD Blu-Ray. Initially I wasn't too impressed because of the dark and bleak looking dystopian future, but as the film progressed and I saw the beautiful dance of the light reflecting in the water at Wallace Corp., I was completely sold. The colours are beautiful and the movie looks as sharp as can be, and even though I am not supposed to mention cinematography here, as this “review” is about the image quality, the cinematography just blew me away… Bravo!
Blade Runner UHD Blu-Ray (4k) Overall, a very good looking UHD Blu-Ray. The picture quality with its film grain looks super sharp and is straight-up eye candy. The CGI however, like when a flying car (or whatever the proper name is) passes over head looks a bit compressed. Understandably, GCI from “back in the days” like 1982 can look pretty wonky at times, but what I'm talking about here looks like compression artifacts. Not so satisfied about that, but everything else looks sharp as a knife's edge.
