The ratings and comments are about the picture quality, not about the content. As of 2025-01-16 (and likely years in the future), the setup is an LG 77“ G3 4K OLED evo (2023), Apple TV 4K (3rd Gen), and a Plex server with Blu-ray and UHD remuxes.

| The Boys S01 | Blu-ray (1080p) | This is an excellent looking Blu-ray. The image is sharp and I could've mistaken it for UHD. Dark scenes (night / evening / indoor) look good and show little to no noise. The image through the season has quite high contrast which might be disliked by some, but I think it gives a pop to the image which suits this show. |
