I don't actually live in a basemet, but my office is in one!

My name is Jon and I'm doing a PhD in computational nuclear physics at the University of Oslo. I have a long-standing habit of taking computers apart, building systems, and measuring what happens, so I thought why not write it down somewhere. Writing stuff down is good for solidifying knowledge in your mind, so even if I have zero readers it is still worth it ; )

This journal covers programming, local LLMs, self-hosting, hardware and nuclear physics. Some entries arrive as polished explanations. Others remain honest field notes from work still in progress! Be critical!
